Creating a Water Sensitive Sydney

Approximately 120 water practitioners (List of Participants) participated in a two-day interactive workshop (Sydney Program) at the Novotel, Sydney Olympic Park to explore and ‘map’ what transitioning to a Water Sensitive City might mean for Sydney and the Central East Australian Coast.

Participants, in groups of about eight, engaged in an inquiry over two days into what it meant to ‘transition towards a water sensitive city’. They started by creating a conversation map, identified issues associated with central themes, and developed potential opportunities that may provide some leverage for positive change.
Through out the two days, key note presentations were delivered by national and international experts to share recent research findings and knowledge advancement in areas of governance, climate, urban design, urban water systems, policy, leadership and systems thinking.

Participants used this new knowledge to further explore and identify actions to assist transitioning to a Water Sensitive City.
Registered workshop participants are welcome to view the presentations and raw data sets developed during the workshop. These raw data sets are currently being analysed and will be publically available in due course. Please use the raw data sets with acknowledgment and care and with recognition of the context in which they were developed.
